The existing app was Objective-C, a language nobody on the team knew or wanted to learn, so the rewrite went with Appcelerator Titanium instead: writing native iOS and Android apps in JavaScript, a solid compromise at the time. The bigger challenge, though, wasn't the framework: the team had zero prior mobile experience, neither the tooling nor the interaction patterns.

Building for iPad also meant building backend systems that didn't exist yet, including a custom service for a curated, shoppable Instagram feed that spliced products directly into the catalog, infrastructure built solely to power this one mobile feature. Worked as both a mobile and backend developer on the team.
